Crabs
Hermit Crab

The finished piece is approximately 30cm x 30cm. The hermit crab incorporates a clever use of stitches combined with trapunto (Italian quilting) to create this interesting crab. The different claws and pincers are worked in cast-on-buttonhole, needle-lace and a dash of beading for the feelers. Under-painting with watercolour crayons is also an option to colour the background cloth.
